Rid your carpet of candy stains

It’s important to note that hard candies are sugar-based and will dissolve with water.

It may take up to an hour so be patient – it WILL start to loosen.

Gather these tools:

  • Cool water
  • Cleaning cloths.
  • Spot Be Gone (any stain remover will work).
  • Butter knife or spoon.

Now that you know what supplies you need, let’s move onto the carpet cleaning tips.

1. Apply cool water

Apply cool water to the stained area until the candy begins to detach from the carpet.

Carefully pull large pieces out of the carpet fibers. Scrape gently with a spoon or butter knife, if needed, to help loosen the candy.

Continue removing candy and adding cool water to help the process.

2. Use the Spot Be Gone

Once the candy is out of the carpet, apply Spot Be Gone to remove any sticky, colored spot.

3. Blot the area

Blot with a dry cloth to remove the cleaner and stain.

Be sure to use a clean section of cloth with each blot to avoid transfer.

4. Let it dry.

After removing the stain, blot with a dry cloth to remove excess moisture.

5. Wait.

Allow to dry completely.
